Five glasses on the table, none of them anyone’s. The bunting hangs still, no wind today.
The bar
Ice cracks, lime drops. The same move for the hundredth time today, still exact.
Dusk
The sky pulls back into blue. The Danube drinks all of it.
Evening
The lights come on one by one. Nobody asks for the bill.
Night
The sign burns, the last table will not leave. Tomorrow at eight, again.
